HISTORY

Rosebery Engine Yards pays homage to Rosebery's history as one of Sydney's first planned suburbs, where several factories were constructed and serviced the city.

Our Story

Rosebery was one of Sydney’s first planned suburbs, alongside Haberfield and Dacey Gardens.

The development of the suburb subsequently led to the construction of several factories in the subject site and surrounding area, including Buzacott & Co’s Rosebery Engine Works, Commonwealth Weaving Mills, Westinghouse factory, and numerous industrial uses such as beverage and motor manufacturing companies.

Each warehouse structure on site is identified and listed as a heritage item of local significance.

– Former Commonwealth Weaving Mills and Frederick Rose factories including interiors (115-133 Dunning Avenue), listed as I2258
– Former Westinghouse factory including interiors (135-151 Dunning Avenue), listed as I2260.
